“Rainforest is about rain, isn´t it? We three Finns participated in the Terratur trip to Rio Celeste at Easter time 2017 and were not surprised at all that there was rain. We live up in the northern Europe and are used to any circumstances the mother nature would give us. It was a two-day trip from San Jose. Our friend had booked it so we did not know anything about it in advance, but it was a nice surprise. It was raining when we got there and there was some change in plans. We visited a coffee farm where 85-year old charming Juan Jose introduced us his organic coffee-making. We would not have guessed his age.

The hike to the Rio Celeste waterfall was challenging but lovely. We were wandering in a real rain forest with all its trees, bushes and other plants – so beautiful. The birds were mostly sleeping at the moment, but we saw a thin green snake that our competent guide Jesus showed us. The cabin where we spent the night was nice and had all the necessary facilities. The darkness was complete at night. And when we stepped out of the cabin, there were plenty of colibries. The restaurang with its friendly staff was wonderful and the traditional food excellent. It was an experience of a lifetime – thank you once again.”
